This ambitious undertaking to open a $2 billion casino resort included the need to provide a full array of IT systems and applications. Senior management wanted the package evaluation and selection process to be based on a formal and proven methodology, providing an objective review of traditional and non-traditional solutions. They turned to WhiteSand Gaming to provide its proprietary method and expertise to provide a fresh, objective approach to choosing their technology solutions.
Using the WhiteSand developed formal Application Evaluation and Selection Methodology (AESM) and WhiteSand’s industry leading IT gaming expertise and experience, the resort was able to quickly specify each of its many operational needs and related IT requirements. WhiteSand collaborated within and across business units to assure requirements were aligned and achievable within the time and budget constraints of the project.
WhiteSand then utilized its AESM proprietary method for scoring and prioritizing requirements (both vendor and application) to provide a mechanism for objectively and rapidly evaluating each vendor’s proposal stemming from their responses to related RFPs WhiteSand structured and developed. WhiteSand then scored the proposals and provided background on the vendors and their solutions, including non-specified references, tours of casinos with their software, and an assessment of the company and their plans for future development and support of products. This allowed the casino resorts executive management team to make the final selection of winning vendors.
The resort was able to select the best mix of IT systems and applications for its needs at extremely competitive costs while creating an atmosphere that fostered positive vendor relationships. WhiteSand was able to use the competitive bid process, along with its knowledge of the marketplace, to obtain the best pricing from each vendor. This included stable, proven solutions that were also innovative and creative, creating a unique guest experience.
