WhiteSand Gaming Introduces Technology Assessment Scorecard at Gaming Technology Summit

Las Vegas — WhiteSand introduced their IT Assessment and Scorecard today at the Gaming Technology Summit in Las Vegas. Casino IT leaders from around the globe are gathered today and tomorrow to hear about the latest technology innovations in use at casinos and resorts. CIO’s from as far away as Macau and Austria and as near as the Las Vegas strip are attending this yearly conference. “This is the perfect venue for WhiteSand to introduce the Technology Assessment and Scorecard” said Saverio Scheri, managing director at WhiteSand.

“Overcapacity in the gaming market and a deep recession has forced casinos to dramatically cut costs and capital expenditures. These cuts have had enterprise-wide impacts on casino technology, and CEO’s and CIO’s need to understand what’s working and what’s not.” said Saverio Scheri. WhiteSand has responded by launching the Technology Assessment and Scorecard to help casino executives determine the stability of their systems, organization, and business applications. The assessment and scorecard provides a snapshot of a casino’s technology situation evaluating their organization, applications, data integrity, security, social media strategy, data warehouse solution, and business continuity planning.

“The rapid development of new technologies combined with tighter budget constraints have caused many casinos to fall behind in keeping all technology aspects of the enterprise stable and current. IT leaders have been forced to choose where to spend their budget dollars, and not pursue specific technologies or solutions” says Saverio Scheri. The Assessment and Scorecard provides a quick and inexpensive method to highlight areas that need attention and help determine where to focus their development efforts as market conditions begin to permit increased spending. Scheri adds, “We’re using this product with a number of casino operators with great results – the executive teams now have critical information needed for their planning purposes”.

The IT Assessment and Scorecard is completed in just one to two weeks and provides a high-level review of nearly the entire IT approach of a casino resort. Flexible by design, it can be customized for a small individual casino with few amenities or a large multi-property gaming corporation.
