Valley Forge Casino Resort Names Accomplished Gaming Veteran President and CEO

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA – Valley Forge Casino Resort toady announced it named 27-year-gaming veteran Saverio R. “Sal” Scheri president and CEO of the casino resort that will open in spring 2012.

“With Sal’s exceptional track record of nearly three decades of top-level gaming experience, it’s not hard to see why we choose him to guide us through the opening of Valley Forge Casino Resort and beyond,” said OWNER. “Sal has the experience and talent we need to transform Valley Forge into a world-class casino resort that provides top-notch entertainment for our guests.”

Valley Forge Casino Resort will create 500 permanent jobs and serve as the ultimate destination for leisure and business travelers. The resort will feature: 486 stylish guest rooms and suites; 100,000 square feet of meeting and convention facilities; top-notch amenities; and a variety of dining options. Connected to the Valley Forge Convention Center, the world-class casino will feature 50 table games and 600 of the newest and most popular slot machines.

With extensive casino opening and casino management experience, Scheri is responsible for the design, development, and management of the casino resort, including the development of the executive team, marketing strategy, regulatory approvals, budgeting and finance and technology solutions.

Prior to joining Valley Forge, Scheri served as the General Manager of Morongo Casino Resort & Spa near Palm Springs, Ca; President and CEO of WhiteSand; director of gaming consulting for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP; National Director of the Gaming Practice for KPMG Consulting, LLC; and held various executive level positions at Aztar Resorts, Trump Taj Mahal, Deloitte & Touche, Showboat Atlantic City and Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

Scheri has played a key role in the design, development, and opening of many premier casino properties such as Borgata, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Wynn Las Vegas, Bellagio, Prairie Meadows Racetrack Casino, Showboat Atlantic City, and Golden Nugget. He has also provided consulting services for many gaming and hospitality clients around the world including Mohegan Sun, Marriott, MGM, MIRAGE ,Colony Capital, Echelon Resorts, Morongo Casino, Trump Entertainment Resorts, Caesars World, Agua Caliente, Paris Casino, Harrah’s Entertainment, Boyd Gaming, Isle of Capri Casinos, Station Casinos, Hyatt, Six Continents, Foxwoods Resort and Casino, Starwood, and Casinos Austria.

Scheri is the author of “The Casino’s Most Valuable Chip: How Technology Transformed the Gaming Industry” used by universities in America and internationally.
